Please take the time to read through a few of our policies so that you understand how we operate.
Telephone Access to Doctors
Patients can telephone to speak to their doctor. Generally a message will be taken. Alternatively your call may be triaged by one of our practice nurses.
As a general rule, repeat prescriptions are issued as part of a normal consultation. If you have a chronic medical condition requiring medication, we recommend you see the doctor at regular intervals for check-ups. Repeat prescriptions by telephone may be provided if the doctor has agreed to this. However, this involves the doctor reviewing the patient’s medical record to ensure appropriate and complete care. A fee of $5 is charged for the provision of this service.
It is a legal requirement that a referral can only be issued after due consideration by the treating physician. Repeat referrals by telephone may be provided if the doctor has agreed to this. However, this involves the doctor reviewing the patient’s medical record to ensure appropriate and complete care. A fee of $10 is charged for the provision of this service.
Pathology and Radiology Results
During the consultation, patients will be informed on how to find out the results of tests. The doctor will either ask the patient to make an appointment to discuss the results or ask them to telephone the Practice Nurse on 9113 9542.
For clinically significant results, phone contact is made by our Practice Nurses to the patient. If no response is received, a registered letter is sent to the patient.
Doctors at this clinic welcome all feedback from patients. You can discuss any issues or suggestions during your consultation or if you prefer you can put them in writing addressed to your doctor or the Practice Manager and leave them at Reception.
